The latest edition of The Rice Campanile yearbook continues to garner national recognition as the Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded the book seven Gold Circle Awards. The book, which features a wooden cover, was edited by Beth Herlin, Lovett ’13, and Shaan Patel, McMurtry ’14.
The highlights of the honor are the first place awards for Cover Design and Title Page, both designed by Herlin and Patel. The duo also received a third place award for caption/cutline writing, and Patel placed third for headline writing.Certificates of merit were also awarded to Herlin for feature presention, Zoe Wu, Hanszen ’15, for sports reporting and Anastasia Bolshakov, Duncan ’15, for Feature Writing for Student Life.
This year the Gold Circle Awards attracted 4,279 entries from yearbook and digital media. A complete listing of winners can be found here.
