KTRU Rice Radio

what? ktru houston is rice university’s student-run radio station. we originally broadcasted on 91.7 fm from a 50,000 watt antenna. now we’re on 96.1fm (low-power) and streaming online like always.

where? ktru broadcasts from a little room in the ley student center at rice university.

when? all the time. we broadcast 24 hours a day.

who? rice university students run most of ktru under an operating policy with rice university and the student association. we have a chief operator named conner clifton, who is also the assistant director of student media. other than that we’re all volunteers from rice university or within the houston community.

why? to bring alternate forms of making music to houston radio. we want to let people know that good music doesn’t only come in electric guitar. want to see what’s playing? take a look at the on-line set lists.

how? the station is run in accordance with our constitution and by-laws.
